Cherish baby set by Sarah Hatton – issue 36

19th September 2011

Cherish baby set by Sarah Hatton – The Knitter issue 36This classic layette of a blanket, hat and mitts would make a beautiful and practical gift for parents of a newborn. Designed by Sarah Hatton, the pattern is sized from birth to 12 months. It has been knitted in Rowan Wool Cotton which is soft enough for delicate skins, and Sarah has chosen neutral shades with a vintage feel. You can get hold of this pattern by buying a digital version of The Knitter Issue 36. Sarah has made a feature out of eyelets, which appear as diagonal stripes on the pram blanket and on the edgings of the hat and mitts. Borders of double moss stitch add a simple yet elegant touch.
