Free pattern to celebrate the new-look Simply Knitting

5th October 2011

The new-look Simply Knitting goes on sale tomorrow, and to get you salivating, we thought we’d give you a preview of one of the patterns.

Designed by our own, very talented, Kirstie McLeod, it’s one pattern with three looks! No matter whether you want mittens that cover your wrist and thumb well, ones that allow the greatest possible movement for your thumb and fingers or ones that are as pretty as possible while still being cosy, we have the ones for you, and they’re all variations on the same design.

Kirstie has come up with a stylish pair of fingerless mittens and then varied the pattern so they will suit all sorts of wearers. Which one will you choose?

The yarn used is Rico Design Essentials Merino DK, a great choice for winter woollies as it’s nice and warm, and feels lovely to touch. (No itchiness here!) It’s an affordable pure wool yarn, too, so if you can’t choose a favourite pair, you can make all three.
