The third annual Great London Yarn Crawl is taking place on Saturday 5th September, and this year there's a fantastic Pop-Up Marketplace too! The Marketplace will include 30 yarn stalls, indie dyers and designers, including Skein Queen, Baa Ram Ewe, Eden Cottage Yarns, and Mrs Moon. You can view the complete list here. Yarn Crawl There's also a new Indie Designer Spotlight, which will profile five knitting designers: Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade, Louise Zass-Bangham of Inspiration Knits, Renee Callahan of East London Knit, British designer Boo Knits, and designer, author and technical editor Kate Atherley from Toronto. They will meet knitters, sell patterns and show their samples. Kate Atherley will also teach two workshops on Sunday 6th September: Introduction to Knitwear Design, and Pattern Writing Skills. They will be based on Kate’s popular book Pattern Writing for Knit Designers, and are aimed at intermediate knitters and aspiring designers. Yarn Crawl store Ticket sales for The Great London Yarn Crawl, Pop-Up Marketplace and registration for the Kate Atherley workshops are all available through the Yarn in the City website. The Yarn Crawl will visit three stores, and has 12 routes you can choose from. You can view the stores taking part here. It will start with a Kick-Off Party at the Pop-Up Marketplace, and anyone on the Yarn Crawl will get discounts in the shops, plus it's all raising money for Refuge, with collection points for your donations of knitted hats, scarves, mittens and shawls. And we're giving away a pair of tickets to the Yarn in the City Pop-Up Marketplace on Saturday 5th September, plus two goodie bags of yarn treats. For your chance to win, fill in your details on the entry form here.
