Who's ready to learn a new stitch pattern? Pop the kettle on, it's time for another instalment of Sunday Stitches. This week, the Bubbling Stream pattern.

Get your knitting a little twisted with this asymmetrical cable pattern! It looks great and is super-easy to knit, too. Try adding it to a cushion cover, simple tote bag, or use it to give a jumper a bit of zest!

To knit the Bubbling Stream pattern, just follow this stitch pattern to the desired length: 

Cable worked over 8 stitches, with reverse stocking stitch. (Try 24 sts.)

Row 1  (RS) P8, K8, P8.

Row 2  K8, P8, K8.

Row 3  P8, C8B, P8.

Row 4  K8, P8, K8.

Row 5  P8, K8, P8.

Row 6  K8, P8, K8.

Row 7  P8, K2, C4B, K2 P8.

Row 8  K8, P8, K8.

Row 9  P8, K8, P8.

Row 10  K8, P8, K8.

Row 11  P8, K2, C4B, K2 P8.

Row 12  K8, P8, K8.

These 12 rows form the pattern.

As well as giving jumpers a spark of detail, this pattern makes a fantastic blanket! Try knitting it in small squares and sewing them together at alternating angles (horizontal and vertical).
