Sunday Stitches: Eyelet Carpet

Don't be afraid to add bold texture to your knitting with this eye-catching Eyelet Carpet stitch, in this week's Sunday Stitches!

It's the perfect weather to cast-on a chunky cowl and we've got the ideal stitch for the job! Eyelet Carpet is addictive to knit, we love watching the eyelets grow as we knit, plus it creates such an irresistible texture - what are you (and your needles) waiting for? If you've missed some of our previous weekly patterns, then simply click here to find them.

To knit the Eyelet Carpet pattern, just follow this stitch pattern to the desired length: 

Cast on a multiple of 8 sts.

Row 1 (WS) Purl.

Row 2 (RS) *Sl2 to cn and hold in back; K2, then K2 from cn; sl2 to cn and hold in front; K2, then K2 from cn.

Row 3 Purl.

Row 4 Knit.

Row 5 Purl.

Row 6 Sl2 to cn and hold in front; K2, then K2 from cn; sl2 to cn and hold in back; K2, then K2 from cn.

Row 7 Purl.

Row 8 Knit.

Rep rows 1–8 to form pattern.
