Sunday Stitches: Twisted Cables

Needles at the ready, it's time for another instalment of Sunday Stitches! This week, it's the Twisted Cables pattern.

Cables are a great way to add interest and texture to any project. There are lots of cable designs out there, but the Twisted Cables pattern is simply one of our favourites! If you've missed some of our previous weekly patterns, then simply click here to find them.

To knit the Twisted Cables pattern, just follow this stitch pattern to the desired length: 

Cast on a multiple of 8 sts plus 10 (try 42 sts).
Row 1 (RS) P3, K4, *P4, K4; rep from * to last 3 sts, P3.
Row 2 K3, P4, *K4, P4; rep from * to last 3 sts, K3.
Row 3 P3, C4B, *P4, C4B; rep from * to last 3 sts, P3.
Row 4 K3, P4, *K4, P4; rep from * to last 3 sts, K3.
Rows 5-8 As rows 1-4.
Row 9 P1 *T4B, T4F; rep from * to last st, P1.
Row 10 K1, P2, K4, *P4, K4; rep from * to last 3 sts, P2, K1.
Row 11 P1, K2, P4, *C4F, P4; rep from * to last 3 sts, K2, P1.
Row 12 K1, P2, K4, *P4, K4; rep from * to last 3 sts, P2, K1.
Row 13 P1, *T4F, T4B; rep from * to last st, P1.
Rows 14 & 15 As rows 2 & 3.
Row 16 K3, P4, *K4, P4; rep from * to last 3 sts, K3.
Repeat these 16 rows to form the pattern.
