Nautical style is a summer staple, and this sailor jacket in bright red looks amazing with denim. We love!

Marilyn Monroe in screen tests for The Misfits, 1961, wearing a gorgeous embellished cardigan – this is easy to do yourself with an old handknit and a few carefully placed jewels, vintage buttons or sequins.

If you want to get vintage knits on your needles, there are plenty of pattern books to help you, and lots of ideas on Ravelry and Pinterest. You'll find lots of inspiration in Vintage Knits for Him and Her by Anne England, available from Amazon.
