Visit Briswool in Bristol – starts Saturday 14th May

The Briswool exhibition is back for 2016, with more amazing knitted and crocheted replica of Bristol landmarks and local celebrities.

12th May 2016

Starting this Saturday, 14 May, the Briswool model will be on display at the M Shed until Sunday 12 June. Co-ordinated by artist Vicky Harrison from Paper Village in Bedminster, it includes the Clifton Suspension Bridge, St Mary Redcliffe and the M Shed cranes, all created by a team of volunteers.

Even if you saw Briswool last year, there are plenty more new additions to see. The Bristol crocodile is joined by Gromit riding on a ferry, with balloons floating above Bristol Cathedral, Cabot Tower, and traffic along the roads.

“Briswool is not about impressive buildings or even the history of Bristol”, explains Vicky Harrison. “Volunteers have chosen to stitch locations or objects that mean something to them personally or were a challenge to make. It is a breath-taking scene that charms the eye with colour and texture.”

There's also a series of workshops at M Shed, where you can learn or improve your knitting and crochet skills – see below for dates and information. And on Sunday 12 June there's a yarn-storming event to celebrate M Shed’s fifth birthday – you can make a pennant to join a bunting trail outside the museum.
