Rowan is putting their usual heritage flair front and centre for the Knitting & Stitching Show this year, which is hosted at the infamous Alexandra Palace. In partnership with Rowan retailer Lady Sew and Sew you will be able to get up close and personal with their stunning autumn/winter collections and get a feel for their delicious new yarns. Make sure to check out stand TGD11.
Rowan will be showcasing multiple collections and both stories from Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine 62; ‘Kinship’ and ‘Dawn till Dusk’. Kinship is a story inspired by Rowan’s original roots, housed in a beautiful old woollen mill and the surrounding landscape of the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Dawn till Dusk is inspired by knitwear that can take you from the office to drinks or slouchy layer pieces that can be worn for an afternoon stroll or as a cover-up over evening wear.
Journeyman will also be on display, another collaboration with Rowan favourite Martin Storey. A collection of truly modern men’s knits, Journeyman showcases the best qualities of the popular Hemp Tweed yarn and features Martin’s signature nautical cables, slip stitch checks and simple rib and stocking stitch designs.
Rowan will also be bringing a selection from all three of their new yarns released this winter: Cashmere Tweed, Valley Tweed and Alpaca Soft DK. All three have gorgeous pattern support from their pool of talented designers.
The Cashmere Tweed Collection is inspired by the styles and patterning of Scandinavian and Icelandic knits. Designed by Martin Storey and featuring his eye-catching colour work and simple, yet elegant shapes. Similarly the Timeless DK collection uses classic and clean silhouettes to suit any wardrobe. Keep an eye out for Martin at the show, who will be around to talk about some of the designs this season.
The Valley Tweed Collection was designed using the brand new Valley Tweed yarn, sourced and spun near the home of Rowan in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. The rustic and timeless garments have a distinctly British vibe and there will be the opportunity to meet the designer Lisa Richardson at the show.
There will also be pieces from the new collections by Kim Hargreaves, Jem Weston and Georgia Farrell with added displays from US retailer Churchmouse, there will be no end of inspirational designs to admire.
Rowan is also running a prize giveaway every day of the show. The first five people to visit the Rowan stand, find Charlotte, and say the following: “Knitting is my life, without Rowan I would cry!” will win a goody bag with some yarn and a brochure!
