The new Wool @ J13 wool and yarn festival will take place in Staffordshire on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May 2017. It's being held on a 600 acre farm near Penkridge, just one mile from J13 of the M6.
There'll be over 40 exhibitors, an eclectic mix of established traders and those who are just starting out. Established brands include TOFT, Little Gem Felts, Plant Dyed Wool, and Lynne Rowe Knitting & Crochet, while the new faces include Fiona Brennan from Sonic Knits, and Robert Mack with his bone china buttons. A full list of exhibitors can be found at the bottom of this page.
The event is run by wool artist Ingrid Wagner, along with Val James who runs the farm venue.
You can shop 'til you drop, and then take a break while getting hands on in a choice of workshops and talks on a diverse range of topics including left handed knitting, dizzy sheep spinning, and the habits of moths.
Demonstrations throughout the weekend will include shearing not only sheep but also angora rabbits, and if you're competitive you can get creative for the chance to win some great prizes.
The festival will also support local charity The Donna Louise Trust, which provides pallative care for young children in Staffordshire and South Cheshire, through a ‘Time Shop’ raising funds over the weekend. And The Haywood Sisters, a close harmony trio from London, will provide musical entertainment, along with refreshments on site from Street Food vendors and a licensed bar.
