Bristol Wool Fair

Competition: win tickets to the Bristol Wool Fair 2015

7th August 2015

In our new competition you can win tickets to the Bristol Wool Fair 2015. This year the event runs from 11th to 13th September, and has moved to a new venue, Washing Pool Farm near Cribbs Causeway. The extra space means there's room for over 80 stalls, selling unique hand-made gifts and yarns, a wide choice of workshops, and an auction. The duck-herding show returns this year, plus there'll be a falconry display, and a live Viking camp - you can see the ancient craft of nadelbinding (knotless knitting), plus Viking wolf dogs and raven, and warriors in battle.

On the Saturday night there'll be a Wool Fair Harvest supper, where you can knit, crochet or spin as you enjoy a meal and entertainment. Over the three days you can also take part in workshops including dyeing, spinning, needle felting, and soap-making, as well as knitting and crochet (workshop tickets must be bought in advance). You can see all the stall-holders here, from Get Knitted for a huge range of yarns, Stone Hens Ceramics, Native YarnsBelinda Harris-Reid, and Moor View Alpacas.

The new location means there's free parking, and the reduced set-up costs means ticket prices are lower (plus under-16s are free). For further information, or to buy tickets, visit the website The event's chosen charity is the Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal for the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and St Michael's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We're giving away a pair of weekend tickets to one lucky knitter! For your chance to win, fill in the entry form here with your details. The competition closes in 1 week, on Saturday 15th August.
