So now you can get started on your Christmas gifts, from stocking fillers to sweaters, toys and knitted treats for little ones.

Simply Knitting issue 152 contents

Inside this issue are Alan Dart's Grandpa Jolly, a bright wreath, and a beautiful jumper, plus a Scandi-style cosy blanket and our great collection of Simple Knits. You'll also find a cosy cable cardi, Santa and snowman decorations, and a lace hat you can knit from just one skein.

Winter Warmers knitting patterns

And along with the print or digital magazine, you'll also receive our 'Winter Warmers' pattern collection, with another 20 designs. If you're struggling to find a perfect under-the-tree gift for a friend or family member, then you're in luck – this booklet is bursting with ideas.

Cables are huge this winter, and you'll find a beautiful cable cardigan from Noro in self-patterning yarn, a cabled rollneck sweater by Emma Vining, a cable headband/bracelet by Jessica Biscoe, and a cabled hat and scarf set by Helen Ardley. We also have three patterns from DROPS: for little ones there's an adorable matching hat and jumper, plus a chunky men's sweater, and a textured poncho for teens and ladies.

If you prefer vintage style you'll love Pat Menchini's capelet and hat set, and Pat has also designed a snuggly cardigan with a cowl collar. Julie Ferguson has a co-ordinating collection too: her bobble hat, snood, reversible muff, scarf and leg warmers look so cosy! Last but not least, Val Pierce's oversized scarf will knit up quickly for a super-speedy gift.
