We know you have lots of questions and we’ve tried to answer the most frequently asked ones here. If we’ve missed out something you desperately need to know, feel free to get in touch by emailing us at TheKnitter@immediate.co.uk.
We’ll start you off with one of the most important questions:
What is The Knitter?
The Knitter is the magazine for knitters seeking a creative challenge. It’s published by Immediate Media.
How often does The Knitter come out?
Every four weeks. That means there are 13 regular issues of The Knitter a year.
I don’t live in the UK. Where can I buy The Knitter?
The Knitter is exported to many countries, including the USA, where you’ll find it in Barnes and Noble, Borders, Books-a-Million, and JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores.
On this page you'll find details of our US stockists, plus contact details for other countries (including Australia, Canada, Germany, South Africa and more).
Alternatively, you can subscribe to the magazine online (see below).
How can I subscribe to The Knitter?
Click here to see our latest offers for UK and Overseas subscriptions.
I’m a subscriber and the latest issue hasn’t turned up – what do I do?
Please contact our customer services department by phoning 03330 162 151† or visit www.buysubscriptions.com/help
Where can I buy back issues of The Knitter?
Our customer services team (03330 162 151 †) keep copies of the six most recent issues of the mag, and you can also buy back issues of The Knitter online.
If you’re looking for an issue older than that, you can buy a digital version of The Knitter.
I’m a publicist – who should I send press releases to?
Send an email to TheKnitter@immediate.co.uk.
Can I book an advert in The Knitter?
Absolutely! Call our ads team on 01173 008 206 or email Penny Stokes, Senior Advertising Sales Manager: email@example.com
Will you print this feature/review/news story I’ve written?
It would be best if you email us your CV and some samples of your previous work, plus a pitch for the particular feature/review/news story you’d like to write for us.
How do I get a job on The Knitter?
Job opportunities on The Knitter are very few and far between – we’re a very tight-knit team (in so many senses!) and people rarely leave. It must be something to do with the general sense of camaraderie or perhaps the sheer volume of yarn and cakes on offer.
There are other job opportunities within our parent company, Immediate Media.
Can I send you my knitting design?
We generally work with a list of established knitting designers, and commission to trends a long way in advance. If you are interested in getting on to our submissions mailing list, please email TheKnitter@immediate.co.uk with your CV and examples of your previous design work.
I would like to offer you an item for review. How can I do this?
Email TheKnitter@immediate.co.uk with details.
I’m organising a knitalong/opening a knitting shop/running a knitting workshop. How can I get it mentioned in the magazine?
Email TheKnitter@immediate.co.uk with the details, but please be aware that we receive many requests for events to be covered, and we don’t have space in the magazine for all of them.
How can I get hold of a pattern from a previous issue?
If it in the last six months, you can probably buy it from http://www.buysubscriptions.com/back-issues/the-knitter-back-issues
If it is older than that, you can buy a digital version of the magazine.
More than six months after publication, some designers choose to self-publish, so do check the designer’s own website, if they have one.
I found a mistake in one of your patterns. How can I let you know?
Thanks for spotting that! Please send an email to TheKnitter@immediate.co.uk.
I have some suggestions. How can I get them to you?
We love to hear from our readers, so please email us at TheKnitter@immediate.co.uk.
